Gastronomic tours

• Gastronomic tours are a fun and pleasant way to discover the Rimini Riviera, especially its inland district. Inland, the typical coastal seafood disappears, replaced by cooking with locally grown products. The inland owes the original and unique flavours of its dishes to the blending of culinary traditions from Emilia-Romagna and the Marches. See the section on Gastronomia if you wish to know more about some typical dishes from our region. 
• Take a trip up into the valley of the Marecchia River towards Montefeltro and stop in one of the typical local trattorias if you wish to taste some of the delicious products collected in the woods. Savoury mushrooms and truffles, both black and white, are usually enjoyed with various types of game.
• Oppure potete seguire percorsi ridenti fra vigneti e uliveti, e dedicarvi alla scoperta dei vini DOC.
• Risalire la Valconca alla ricerca della tradizione delle erbe selvatiche, molto utilizzate nella cucina di questa zona: non solo per insaporire insalate e sughi, ma anche per farcire, crude e condite con olio e aglio, piadine ripiegate in due.
• Or follow the pleasant routes amid vineyards and olive groves in search of fine wines.
• You could also journey up into the Valconca to sample the wild herbs often used in the cooking of this area. Local cooks flavour salads and sauces with the herbs, or they mix them with olive oil and garlic to create a delectable filling for piadina bread.
• Or perhaps you would prefer to take a tour in the Valley of Rubicone in search of formaggio di fossa, a cheese (formaggio) which is preserved in pits (fossa) beneath ground. This cheese is wonderful when enjoyed with a piada and a good glass of wine.
• Or how about rediscovering the charms of the past by stopping to enjoy a traditional Medieval meal in an elegant restaurant situated in one of our region's ancient castles.
